QUESTION:
My students worked in the program today. When I viewed their progress in the Classroom Management System (CMS), the reports stated that the students were placed out (PO) of some of the topics. What happened?

SYMPTOMS:

ANSWER:

  1. This will occur if the program is set to update progress based on a student's test results and the student has completed the Pre-Test or Readiness Test. In this case, the student is placed out in each topic he/she passed in the Pre-Test or Readiness Test. The CMS reports will show that the student is placed out unless the student goes into the topic(s) and completes each section.
  2. This will occur when a teacher manually updates a student's progress in the topic(s) using the CMS. When progress is updated in this way, the CMS reports will show the student as placed out unless the student goes into the topic(s) and completes each section.

If you do not want the student to be placed out in a certain topic, use the Utilities in the CMS to change the student's progress back. Do not make changes in the CMS when students are logged on to the student program.

For more information about student progress, refer to the Teacher's Resource Guide. A printed version of the guide is distributed with each product. An electronic version is also available. Use the Documentation menu to learn how to access the electronic version.
