QUESTION:
How do I map a network drive?
ANSWER:
Larson software requires a mapped network drive in order to be installed and for accessing program files located on the network. Use the instructions below to map a network drive.
- Right click on "My Computer".
- Select "Map Network Drive. . ." from the menu. The "Map Network Drive" window will open.
- Click a drive letter in the box next to "Drive:." It does not matter which letter is chosen, however anytime a student or teacher wants to run the program on this computer, they must select the same drive.
- Click on the Browse button.
- The "Browse For Folder" window will open. In this window, there is a list of servers on the network. Choose the drive that contains the product files. Click on the "+" next to the server name to see the drives on that server.
- With the correct drive highlighted, click the OK button at the bottom of the window.
- There should be a check mark in the box next to "Reconnect at logon." If this is not the case, click on the box.
- Click the Finish button.
The drive is now mapped to the workstation. This drive must be mapped in order to install or run the program.
