QUESTION:
How do I reinstall the program without losing student data?

ANSWER:
The student data is stored on the server in a folder called "xindex" where "x" is the appropriate product abbreviation. For example, "LEMindex" is the folder that contains student data for Larson's Elementary Math. The abbreviations for the other products are given below.

A1R - Larson's Algebra 1 with Review
LEM - Larson's Elementary Math
EAA - Larson's Excel @ Algebra
LIM - Larson's Intermediate Math
MAT - Larson's Matemáticas Saltarinas
MSM - Larson's Middle School Math
LMS - Larson's Prealgebra and Larson's Algebra 1
  1. Before removing anything from the server, locate the "xindex" folder and move it to a secure location.
  2. Delete the program files from the server.
  3. Run the network installation to re-install the program files to the server.
  4. Once the installation is complete, move the "xindex" folder back to its proper location.

If this is done correctly, the result is a new installation which uses the old student data. If changes are made to the location of the program or student data files on the server, the workstations will need to be reinstalled so that they point to the proper location.
