QUESTION:
If students need to have access to the program folder on the server, how do I keep them from deleting data and program files?

ANSWER:
The students should not have write permissions to the program files, so students will not be able to delete program files from the server. Students need read only access to the program files.

The students do, however, need write permissions to the student data files. For Windows® users, students will not be able to delete files without explicit delete permissions. Macintosh® users may want to look into system policies to see if there is a way to restrict user access by possibly making the student data folder a "hidden" folder.
