QUESTION:
When my students are answering problems in the testing portions, Larson's Algebra 1 or Larson's Prealgebra will make them restart that portion the first time they make a mistake, no matter how many questions they have answered correctly. How do I prevent this?

SYMPTOM:

ANSWER:
This occurs when the passing grade is 100%, which is the default for all students. The passing grade can be changed using the Classroom Management System (CMS).

  1. Make sure that no students are logged on to the student program.
  2. Log on to the CMS.
  3. Click Utilities.
  4. Click Edit Student Passing Grade.
  5. Click the Choose a class list. box.
  6. Select the name of the class which contains the students for whom the passing grade needs to be changed.
  7. Select the name of the student(s) for whom the passing grade will be changed.
  8. Click Edit.
  9. Click the button next to the appropriate passing grade.
  10. Click OK.

For more information about changing the passing grade, refer to the Teacher's Resource Guide. A printed version of the guide is distributed with each product. An electronic version is also available. Use the Documentation menu to learn how to access the electronic version.
