Tech Note PREATN2:  Unable to open file ‘P:/Larson Math Series/lmsprog/casts/filename.cxt’ because it is already open with write permission by another user.

ISSUE:
Running Larson's Algebra 1 or Larson's Prealgebra causes the error message, "Unable to open file P:/Larson Math Series/lmsprog/casts/filename.cxt because it is already open with write permission by another user.", where "P" is the name of a mapped drive and "filename" is the name of the .cxt file.

SYMPTOM:

• Working within a module of the student program causes the error.

RESOLUTION:
This error occurs when one or more people have too many permissions to the program files on the server. Ask your network administrator to verify that all users have read only permission to files within the "lmsprog" folder.
